I am part of the generation who had no mobile phones until school ended. We then received keypad mobiles with just a few features. These included snake games, a calculator, and the ability to make calls. Now here we are with a 6 to 7 inch screen mobile. This device almost does the work that a laptop or computer would have done at those times.
Crazy right how technology shifts !!. I joined the software or the IT club of the millennial generation. The concept of technology in jobs was simple. It involved some manual work. There were also prestigious developers coding all the time. Unfortunately I was into manual work which then at that time was a great work to sustain in the industry. And then fast forward two years , manual work comes to a halt and people move towards automation. I moved along with it !!! Then all of a sudden there is data everywhere and you land to big data job. When I got the big data job, I thought I could turn anything I touch to gold. I was crazily optimistic.
Again here we are talking , eating and writing AI AI AI and AI. People are getting laid off left and right in the name of AI. Over time, I might also shift in that direction. There is a saying: “Change is the only Constant.” I need to have another choice in mind if I become rigid and stick to what I do. This is important if I get kicked out for not staying in current. It’s like how Nokia lost in the game of Android.
So until I know what lies in future, I am happily enjoying the work. I am also reading upon the hype of AI to catch up whenever needed.
